S&D leadership heads to Slovenia to uphold Europe’s sovereignty against Trumpian far-right offensive.
The leadership of the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, the S&D Bureau, will visit Slovenia next week to uphold Europe’s democracy and sovereignty against the Trumpian, far-right-fuelled disorder, disrespect for fundamental values and justice, polarisation, and hatred.
Hosted by Slovenian MEP Matjaž Nemec and led by President Iratxe García, the S&D delegation will meet representatives of trade unions and civil society, including the My Voice, My Choice movement – a symbol of resistance to far-right attacks on women’s rights and civil society in general.
During a series of debates and events in Ljubljana, the S&D leadership will convey a strong message of support for Slovenian Socialni Demokrati and their pro-European programme for a future built on equality, social and tax justice, solidarity, opportunity, and hope.
